Greetings to all. Ive posted my photos of Bristol's opening weekend for

2009 in the gallery section of my site. I didnt take as many as I

normally do this time but I did capture a good amount of the Barbarian

battles including some really nice close up action shots. These shots I

dedicate to the memory of Jim Gasser who brought to Bristol a new level

of fun and excitement. We will miss him.

Very Busy Start to the Summer...

    Monday, December 8, 2008, 3:55 PM [General]

Wow what a busy start for me for the summer season. The month of June found me at Port Washington for the Pirate fest. Then the next day I was at my good friends Chris and Amy for their Medieval wedding. Finally  at the end of the month I traveled south to meet up with several members of the Outlanders to visit the Kentucky Renaissance Faire. I have post photos of all three events on my website at:

Now Im looking forward to Bristol's opening and enjoying my home faire, favorite pubs and really good friends.

    This Month's Music Selection

    Album: Ragged, Rent and  Torn

    Artists: Shira Kammen

Shira plays the Vielle, which is a precursor to the violin, and it's where we get the word "fiddle" from. She a big deal in medieval circles, having been in many of the major groups that play this repertoire (Ensemble Alcatraz, Project Ars Nova, Sequentia, Hesperion XX and Boston Camerata). In "Ragged, Rent and Torn", Shira and friends turn their attention to the bawdy, fun and lewd songs of the period. The artistry is definitely taken seriously, but at the same time this is an album of music "just for fun".
